Easy layout using scraps

What do you do when you have used up most of a pack of paper?  Well if you have just one piece of patterned paper and some coordinating cardstock you can create this quick and easy layout.

Supplies

You will need one patterned paper and a coordinating cardstock. The Close to My Heart Patterned paper is two sided with a patterned zip strip. This allows you to create this layout using only one piece of patterned paper because you use both sides in the design.

Basic Cutting instructions

  • Patterned paper -

    • Cut off the zip strip and cut this into two lengths: 3 ½” and 2”

    • Position the paper in your trimmer right side up (like you want the design to be in the finished layout). Now cut off two 1” strips from the side.

    • Turn the paper 90 degrees (so it is on its side)and cut it in half at 6”. This will give you two 6” x 10” pieces.

  • Cardstock -

    • Cut two ½” strips from one end of the paper.

    • Cut a piece 4 ½” x 6 ½”.

Assembly instructions

  • Adhere the 1” and ½” strips flush at the top of the page. The cardstock has a dark and light side so make sure to pay attention when adhering.

  • Adhere the 6 “x 10” pieces up 1” from the bottom and in 1” from the sides of your base pages.

  • Next position your photos as desired on the pages using the cardstock as photo mat and using the zip strips for embellishment at the top of two pictures.

I hope you've enjoyed this quick layout.
